The following may seem like gibberish, and it probably is. But there is some sort of meaning behind it.
I got the idea to play the “keyboard” to some of my favorite music. The idea is simple enough; computer keys further to the right are higher notes, and keys to the left are shorter notes. The top row controls the “vocals,” the middle row controls the instruments, and the bottom row can control percussion (though in this case, it really didn’t control much in particular. I just banged on it when I felt like it.).
If one wanted to get serious with their keyboarding, they could consult a friend to play the percussion on the bottom row.
There is also the question of how many keypresses should accompany a single note. Ideally, short notes should each have one key press, and longer notes could have multiple key presses in a row. As you might discern from the “recording,” I chose to give multiple keypresses to all sorts of notes, single or otherwise.
It would be excellent to have an online keyboard simulator in which pressing a key would produce a computer-generated noise (especially if the top keys did produce vocal notes, and the middle keys tonal notes, and the bottom rows percussive notes). It could be that one exists. If not, one can always imagine.
